Non-standard build insurance
Non-standard build insurance
Every building is different but many homes stick within a certain type of build, with a more standard range of materials to make the process of planning and building easier to process and less likely to be challenged by the local councils. However, not all homes are built with the ease of planning authorities in mind, and some enjoy an architectural freedom and custom build that will need a non-standard build insurance to cover them.
There are specialist policies available that will cover a range of different types of non-conformist builds that utilise diverse materials from the difference in bricks, timber and slate to wattle and daub.
Dependent on your chosen (and authority approved) methods of construction for your new or renovated property, a non-standard build insurance is more likely to cover you for processes that may be deemed as high risk.
